5/05/25
Athletic left hander with a polished threepitch mix. Sat 84-86 mph and touched 88 with the fastball, while showing above average feel for a 71-77 mph curveball he could land for strikes or bury late. Also mixed an effective 77-80 mph changeup to keep hitters off balance. Logged 8 strikeouts over 6 innings with no walks, pitched with confidence and tempo, limiting hard contact despite limited run support.

Braxton Bjur, a left-handed pitcher out of Verrado High School, was arguably the most polished arm of the weekend, showcasing impressive command and efficiency on the mound. Bjur consistently filled up the zone with strikes, generating weak contact and keeping hitters off balance. Sitting 86-88 mph with his fastball, he displayed excellent arm-side run, making it a difficult pitch to barrel up. His ability to command the zone and control tempo makes him a key arm to watch this spring, as he is expected to play a significant role for Verrado.

6/05/24

Uncommitted. 6’3” 170lb lanky frame with lots of room to fill out. Well-sequenced movements down the mound. Lower ¾ arm slot. Threw a complete game in his start this weekend, maneuvering through the lineup with ease. The fastball opened up at 83-84 before settling in at 81-83. Topped out at 85. Throws a big slider at 66-68 with tons of sweep. Gradual break on it with good feel to land it for strikes. Threw the changeup at 73-74 with good fading life. Good follow.
