5/31/21

5-foot-9, 165 lbs with a level upper half and strong lower body. Sets up in a narrowly open base with feet just outside of shoulder width apart. Uses a low leg lift to gather on back side. Gains minimal ground as he lands. Hands show a tight, rhythmic move to create momentum with barrel before swing. Stays tall at landing, giving him added leverage. Attacks the low pitch with consistent side-bend and an uphill barrel path. Created consistent lift during BP with repeatable effort. Defensively, moved well at SS with repeatable actions. Works down to the ball with a hip hinge at the waist and gets chest flat over his glove while funneling in. Stays behind the ball then aggressively comes through with added footwork during exchange. Tight, short arm action from a lower release. On the mound, presented a unique look from a lower, true side-arm slot. Sets up from the extreme 1st base side of the rubber then lands towards the middle. Presenting a tough look to both RHH and LHH. Works exclusively out of the stretch. Deliberate tempo/pace into leg lift before taking average stride length into landing. Gets extension over front side with torso and stays behind the ball throughout. Creates run/cut out of hand on everything he throws.
