2/29/20: Senior center fielder earned all-tournament honors by collecting five hits in 12 at-bats with a pair of doubles. He has a medium sized frame with a strong, physically developed build and is an above-average runner who can track it down in the outfield. Hunter is a likely senior sign for Day Three this June.
8/20/18: Six-foot, 205 pounds. Medium sized frame with strong, physically developed build. Above average runner who can track it down in the outfield. Hunter plays fast and shows good instincts when making reads. Arm strength with have to improve, presently below average, with some stiffness in his throwing motion. Switch hitter. Offensively he’s been very consistent in his two seasons at Purdue but struggled while swinging with wood this summer. Might be better suited sticking to the left side, especially with his speed. Got down the line from the right side in 4.26 seconds. Swing is very similar from both sides. Shows considerable effort. Nothing fluid about what he does in the box. The hands never really seem to sync up with the rest of his body. Struggled generating line-drive contact in game. That being said, the defensive value is still there and he has a track record of producing with the bat during the college season. (D Jurik)
