St-Laurent is one of the top 2026 arms in Quebec and was recovering from an illness when he took the mound in Georgia. Overall, the stuff wasn’t where it’s been in the past but he showed the ability to battle and generate outs even without the velocity. The ABC product worked a pair of innings against Kentucky and flashed a three-pitch mix with the fastball sitting 82-84mph, along with a changeup and curveball. It’s an intriguing arm from a lower-¾ slot and it will be interesting to see where he’s at next month at the Canadian Futures Showcase when he’s rested and back on track.

’26 RHP/INF Lucas St-Laurent was arguably the most high-powered arm to take the mound in Laval and got the ball in the opener against Ontario working 3.1 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run on 6 strikeouts and 2 walks. Fastball sat 84-86mph and was missing barrels with it, coupled with a breaking ball he was able to land for strikes at 70-71mph and also flashed a changeup. The left-handed bat has also developed well and St-Laurent was a main producer to the Quebec offense.

St-Laurent impressed as one of the younger players on Canada’s roster. A loose, quick arm with a low release height generates deception on fastballs up in the zone as it creates a flat VAA, making it difficult on hitters to square up and inducing swing & miss. His fastball got up to 87 mph, sitting in the 84-86 mph range and has plenty of arm side run. The curveball and slider both have unique movement patterns which compliment his fastball well and sets up his changeup effectively, as it has depth and could turn into an effective out pitch. One of the top 2026 arms in the country has continued to be a standout no matter where he pitches.

This was our first look at 2026 RHP/SS Lucas St-Laurent since the fall and he’s really improved and matured during that time. Wiry frame with tons of room to gain strength at 5-foot-11, 150-pounds. Has gained 6mph on the fastball since September, now sitting 84-85 T85.9 and also flashed a slider with sweepy-action at 72-74mph, as well as a changeup at 80-81. Another impressive underclass arm out of Okotoks who you can put in the top tier of 2026s in Canada.
9/14/22
St-Laurent, 5-foot-11, 145-pounds, was the best young prospect we saw at the Montreal Open ID. Quick, clean arm action and the ability to throw 4 pitches for strikes. The FB lives at the knees, and he has advanced feel with the CB has depth to it. St-Laurent is one of the more promising ‘26 arms we have seen to date and will be a must follow going forward is Quebec.
