5-foot-11, 165-pound lean athletic frame. Advanced at the plate, Mccaffrey clocked an exit velocity of 91 mph. (70.50 mph bat speed average). (22.43 mph hand speed average). Began in an athletic balanced stance with a controlled high load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed is electric, has a short upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. He found lots of barrels with tons of loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Above average in the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 83 mph; had a natural exchange, quick aggressive footwork, and soft hands. Fields the ball one hand,movements laterally were athletic. Showed a ¾ slot and a loose arm action with consistent accuracy to the bag. Showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.71 60-yard dash. Projectable on the mound, showing quick arm speed he had a loose arm action and a high ¾arm angle. Tall-and-fall type pitcher and uses easy effort. Showed strong balance point with in line shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Slider (76 mph). Produced a fastball that came in at 80-82 mph; shows very consistent command and hard sinking action.(Max spin 2004; Avg 1931). He showed slurvey action and control low in the zone on his 11/5 curveball (72). (Max spin 1995; Avg1955). Showed fading action and arm side control on his changeup (69).
