1/26/20

5-foot-10, 185-pound, solid strong, athletic frame, shows to have strength throughout. A right-handed hitting two-way player, at the plate, starts with an open stance, gets back to even with stride foot. The hands are loose and relaxed, starting slightly lower. The swing is down to level, keeping hands inside the baseball, could use more backside drive, clean athletic finish, staying on the baseball, creating backspin. Shows good bat speed, had a tee exit velocity of 86 mph, gap power. Ran a 4.50 from home to 1st. Defensively, shows to have arm strength across the diamond, 76 mph, quick release from a 3/4 slot. The glove is soft, fields out front, moved well to backhand side. Off the mound, worked from the set position, delivery is simple, good direction with minimal pull to frontside. The arm action is longer, clean and working from a higher slot. Threw a heavy fastball topping at 74 mph. The breaking ball is more of a slurve, thrown for strikes, looked confident in this pitch, clocked at 63-65 mph. Projects out to move to 1st base long term, with ability to help out of the bullpen. Offensively, has potentially to hit.

Tee Exit Velocity: 87 mph

Arm Velocity: 76 mph

Home to 1st: 4.50

1/27/19

Body Type: 6-foot, 170-pound, strong thick physical frame. The wrists and hands have above average strength to them, frame is well proportioned, with room to add weight.
Hit: A right-handed hitter, hands are loose, set slightly lower, front foot starts open and gets back to even on stride. The hands work freely through the zone. The barrel has life and whip out front on contact.
Power: The tee exit velocity was clocked at 82 mph, with more in there. The approach is more line to gap to gap, shows to have enough pop to get baseball into the alleys.
Run: Ran a 7.68 sixty-yard dash
Offensive Production: Look for him to hit in the middle of the order at some point, feel for the barrel.
Field: The hands, flow are soft and clean at third, feet move throughout, clean actions.
Arm: The arm was clocked at 74 mph, longer arm swing from a ¾ to high ¾ slot. The velocity is probably tick higher, had a heavy throwing day before off mound.
Defensive Production: A corner guy, could make a move to the first base long term at the next level.
Pitching Delivery/Mechanical: A right-handed pitcher, works from the stretch position, hands start and stay high, the direction is inline. The front glove has slight pull to it and gets off line at times. The arm action and is clean works with easy effort and works out of a high ¾ slot.
Fastball: The fastball touched 71 mph, with at on more in there, cut to 4-seamer and showed sink to 2-seamer.
Curveball: The curveball had a bigger break, clocked at 58 mph, needs to be thrown with more fastball hand speed.
Changeup: Showed to have real good fade and action to arm side, clocked at 70 mph, it's an above average pitch.
Pitch-ability: A strike thrower, pounds the zone with all three pitches, works quick and pounded the zone, times to the plate were at 1.84, could be quicker. Looked to be confident and took control of the bullpen.
Future Role: Will need to add velocity to be a starter at next level, should be able to work out of bullpen with ability to throw strikes. Solid Two-way player at this point.

8/19/18

6-foot, 170-pound right-handed pitcher and outfielder. Ran a 4.79 down the line on his dig to first base at the event. The approach in the outfield is athletic and appropriate. Threw 78 mph with carry from the outfield to the plate. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 81 mph. The setup is wide in base, front foot open to start. The front foot closes down as the ball approaches, using a toe tap. The hands are set low, and the path is long to the ball. Uses a 1-hand finish after contact. On the mound, the fastball touched 70 mph, minimal arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch is 58-60 mph, big in shape, needs more fastball hand speed to it. The changeup is a work in progress, sitting at 66 mph. Threw from the stretch at the event, the slot is ¾. The feet are online, the tracking of the front shoulder comes offline. The glove comes across the hitters face as he makes his way into foot strike.
