The reactive strength index measurement of an athlete's explosiveness by comparing their jump height to the ground contact time in between their jumps. On a scale of 0-5.
Vertical Jump
A measure of any athlete's body strength and reach calculated from the flight time divided by the contact time.
David Miller: 1B, (2024) Bishop Hendricken, RI. 6-foot-3, 200-pound physical athletic build. (64.3 mph bat speed average). (21.6 mph hand speed average). Starts in a crouched athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a leg kick. Bat speed is explosive, uses an upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Created tons of loud contact and found lots of barrels. Gap to gap approach. Solid capable in the infield, his best throw was registered at 74 mph; had a clean fluid exchange, sure consistent hands, and smooth in control footwork. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.5.

Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then uses a short stride. Has a simple flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. Gap to gap approach. In the infield, his position velocity was registered at 72 mph; showed consistent smooth feet, a clean exchange, and sure hands. Has a high ¾ slot. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.34.

5-foot-11, 170-pound, strong, solid athletic frame, room for added weight gains. A right-handed hitter, starts slightly open, wider, hands are loose and relaxed at shoulder height. Small pick up and put down with stride foot. The swing is level to up, more of a pull approach, creates backspin to the baseball. The exit velocity was clocked at 82 mph and ran a 8.50 sixty-yard dash. Defensively, worked out behind the plate, a wider setup, soft hands on the catch, leans forward receiving, could be a bit more balanced and centered. The front side, needs to get more closed down on throw downs, had a pop time of 2.50-2.75 and are was clocked at 66 mph. Will need to continue to work on skill set. Potential to hit at some point.
