5-foot-11, 165-pound, wiry strong, a super athlete, fast twitch and explosive. Committed to Dean, was the top player at this event. A right-handed hitting outfielder. The top tool are his legs, clocked at 3.72 in the 40 yard-dash. At the plate, feet are shoulder width apart, front foot slightly open, uses a small controlled leg kick, gains ground with stride foot. The hands are loose, keeps the hands back, bat has tilt to it, stays loaded up. The swing is free and easy across his chest, with the baseball jumping off the bat. The swing creates lift to it, approach is more to the pull side, can really control the barrel, squaring up one baseball after another. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 88 mph, with more in there. Defensively, the arm is above average, clocked at 85 mph. The throws are on a line, down hill with ease, footwork is advanced, steps through hard and gains ground. Off the mound, is simple delivery, hands are in sync with leg raise, has a tight high gather. The lead legs lands slightly across the body, front side glove stays inline, gets extension out front on release. The arm is clean on the back side, works out of a ¾ to low ¾ slot. The fastball was clocked at 78-80 mph with action to the arm side. Threw two different breaking balls, slider, more frisbee break to it, clocked at 72 mph. Along with a more traditional over the top curveball at 64-65 mph. The changeup came in at 74 mph. Threw strikes with all three, could help in the bullpen at some point at the college level. Projects for me as more of a hitter/outfielder, good athlete.
40-Yard Dash: 3.72
Exit Velocity: 88 MPH
Arm Velocity: 85 MPH
6-foot, 175-pound, wiry strong athletic frame, the shoulders are square, arms are long, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed pitcher, the arm is super clean, velocity isn't great yet, but look for it to jump quick at some point. The delivery has tempo and timing to it, hands start high, work down with rocker step and then work up with leg raise. The arm action has average length, works out of a natural ¾ slot. The fastball was clocked at 76-79 mph, little arm side run, has a ton left in there. The changeup is probably his best pitch, same slot as fastball, clocked at 73-74 mph. The breaking ball has was clocked at 66-69 mph, slurve break to it. Offensively, hits from the right side, feet are even, slightly wider than shoulder width and hands are set just above back shoulder. The swing path is down to level, gets rotational at times with the lower half, approach is more to the pull side. The hands work at the plate, have some strength to them. Defensively, showed extremely well in the outfield, threw 84 mph, easy clean arm with good carry. The transfer is quick, steps through hard and gains momentum to release. Throws were online and downhill. Projects for me off the mound, look for the velocity to jump, is very athletic.
Home - First: 4.12
