5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. Ran a 4.91 on his dig to first base at the event. The glove and approach are solid in the outfield, he can play both corner positions. The athleticsm is proper and he showed the ability to get off the ball during live play. Threw 78 mph from the outfield to the plate. The bat has good life to it, tee exit velocity of 87 mph. The setup is wide in base, front foot open to start. The front foot closes down as the ball approaches. The hands work well, uphill path to contact. The path needs to be flattened to get the best out of his skill set.
Tee Exit Velocity- 87 mph
3/24/18
5-foot-10, 170 pounds, average athletic build starting to fill out in the upper and lower halves. The frame is capable of adding some more strength, something he has done since his last PBR event. An outfield prospect, Walsh throws from a high ¾ slot, with a loose, whippy arm action, working in rhythm. Throws clocked at 78 MPH with carry, could see this number increase by getting more downhill on throws from the crow hop. At the plate, he works from a slightly open stance, and his feet set shoulder width apart. The lead leg works back to even upon delivery. His hands start away from the body at the chest before rotating back to his set position. The bat path is level-up. Walsh’s tee exit velocity was measured at 86 MPH, another measurable that has spiked since his last event. Continuing to show consistency with the hit tool this spring and summer are imperatives. Shows tools on both sides of the ball, worth keeping tabs on.
40-Yard Dash: 3.87
Exit Velocity: 85 MPH
2/18/17
5-foot-10, 165-pound- average athletic frame, well proportioned throughout. A right-handed hitter, who shows to be athletic, runs above average. The feet are in line, just slightly wider than shoulder width. The hands start above the back shoulder, closer to his back ear, elbow is extended outward. For timing uses an aggressive leg kick, which he gains ground with the stride. The backside lower half is engaged, the hands have a little coil to them when he gets them back. The swing path is down to up, could get the hands to the ball more directly. The finish is with two hands, took aggressive hacks in BP. Defensively, from the outfield, throws from a high ¾ slot. The arm action is clean, shorter path to it, throws were down hill, gave the fielder something to handle, clocked at 74 mph, has carry to them. There is more in the arm, slows down at the finish, let it finish all the way through. The feet are good, steps through correctly with no wasted steps. An athlete, someone to follow.
