7/25/19

5-foot-170-pound, average athletic frame, strength throughout with some fast twitch to him A right-handed hitter, ran very well at this event, recorded an event best 6.85 sixty-yard dash. At the plate, starts slightly open, feet are shoulder width, with weight on back side. The hands are loose and strong, at the shoulders, with bat starting in more of a flat position. The swing is level to up, stays through it, hands stay inside the baseball, barrel is in the zone a long time, creating a gap to gap approach. The tee exit velocity was collected at 72 mph. Defensively, throws above average from the outfield, arm was clocked at 78 mph, baseball comes out of a higher slot. The footwork is clean during the transfer, routes an angles are advanced. Can really go and get the baseball in the gaps. Off the mound, pounds the zone with a four pitch mix. The hands have tempo to them starting higher, working down and then back up with higher leg kick. The arm works from a higher slot, fastball was clocked at 75 mph, worked down in the zone. The breaking pitch was clocked at 67 mph, bigger top to bottom break, also threw a cutter at 70 mph, late life and break. Projects for me more as an outfielder, like the ability to handle the bat and goes and gets the baseball in outfielder. High academic prospect.

Tee Exit Velocity: 72 mph
Arm Velocity:  78 mph

6/19/19

5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and pitcher. Ran a 7.0 sixty on the laser at the event. The approach in the outfield is aggressive and athletic. Threw 76 mph from right field to the plate. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 71 mph. The setup is even in base, front foot steps into the swing. The path is uphill, hands work well. On the mound, the fastball sat 72-74 mph, minimal arm side run to it. The spin pitch is big in shape, sitting 65-67 mph. The changeup is a developing pitch. The delivery is online with the feet and above 3/4 in slot. The arm works free and clean, the front shoulder is offline at foot strike. The delivery is repeated.

4/11/19

5-foot-10, 170-pound, wiry strong athletic frame, put together well, fast twitch actions to him.A right-handed hitting two-way player, showed well on both sides. At the plate, feet are even, wider than shoulder width, hands are loose and relaxed at the shoulders, with bat starting in a tilted position. For timing uses a larger, smooth leg kick, gains ground with stride, transfers weight from backside to front side. The swing is level through the zone, keeps barrel in zone, along with hands inside the baseball. The approach is more middle to pull side, has enough juice to get the ball into pull gap. Batting practice was solid, tee exit velocity was clocked at 71 mph. Runs well, clocked at 7.22 in the sixty-yard dash. Throws extremely well from outfield, clocked at 80 mph, down hill flight, with carry. The feet are active, gets good jumps with solid routes and angles to the baseball. Off the mound, simple controlled delivery, high hands in gather, direction is inline, with extension out front on release. The arm action is clean on the backside, working out of a higher slot. The fastball touched 75 mph, with bore action to it. The breaking ball reached 65 mph, more top to bottom break, thrown for strikes with good depth to it. The change up has a chance to be an out pitch at some point, fade action to it, looking like a fastball out of the hand. Time will tell which way he goes,  athletic young player.

Exit Velocity: 71 mph
Arm Velocity: 80 mph
Sixty-Yard Dash: 7.22

6/09/18

5-foot-9, 170 pounds, average athletic frame and proportions. Some slope in the shoulders. Ran a 7.29 sixty yard dash. A right-handed hitter, he works from an open stance with a stiff lead leg and quick leg kick. Will need to work on keeping weight back so as not to get too far out in front. Level bat path tailored towards his line drive approach. Loose hands that start high before quickly resting bat on shoulder before propelling through the zone. Quick hips and one hand finish through the ball. Posted a tee exit velocity at 73 MPH. Moves athletically in the outfield and showed good timing on actions. His arm was measured at 75 MPH on throws to home, longer arm path that works from a ¾ to high ¾ slot. If the speed kicks up there is potential to slot into center field. As a right-handed pitcher, Masse works from a high ¾ slot and exclusively from the stretch. Stays online, repeats his mechanics, and gets downhill. Quick, clean arm circle on the backside, throws across the body a little bit. Throws a four and two seam fastball between 71-73 MPH. Good sink on the two seamer, with some arm side run on the four seamer. Works in an 11/5 curveball with late break between 60-63 MPH, should continue to tighten as the velocity increases. Flashes a plus changeup, coming in between 60-63 MPH, some tumble on the pitch.
