Logan Downey: SS/RHP, (2024) Coventry, RI. Wheaton College (MA) Commit, 6-foot, 162-pound physical projectable build. (64.3 mph bat speed average). (22.0 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth active load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed is quick efficient, has a simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found lots of barrels with tons of loud contact. Up the middle approach. Advanced while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 80 mph; showed athletic in control feet, a clean exchange, and next level hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were twitchy. Using a consistent very quick arm action, showed consistent accuracy to the base from athletic slot. Projectable on the mound, had an over-the-top arm angle and a short arm action with lightning arm speed. Up-tempo type pitcher who shows high effort. In line shoulders and an athletic balance point. Lands square with an athletic finish. (Max spin 1719; Avg 1644).
