Left-handed arm who shows a slightly higher than 3/4 arm slot. The ball comes out nicely as he pitches in the mid 80's. The fastball has downward plane to it and shows standard left-handed arm side run. The breaking ball is slurvy, too big at times but the shape and form of it are correct. The changeup is a work in progress but his slot is ideal for the pitch. Like this young man a bunch, left handed and the body frame will fill out.
4/26/19: Six-foot-2, 204-pounds. The left-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a clean arm swing. Up tempo delivery with a high leg lift at the top, above average effort and occasional slight head whack. His fastball started out 89-92 in the first, settling in at 87-91. The pitch occasionally flashes cut to his glove. Curveball was inconsistent at 74-76 with 1/7 shape and gradual break. His changeup was his most effective pitch at 78-80 mph with average action. Struggled with command as he walked four and hit two in five innings. 5 IP, 4 R, 4 ER, 6 H, 4 BB, 5 K, 2 HBP. (Bicknell)
6/29/18: Aggressive lefty with a high energy, herky-jerky delivery. Works hyper-quick and throws with plenty of effort. May need to slow his pace and take a couple of breaths between pitches in the future. Showed very similar for CNT as he did this past spring in Week Two of the college season. Sat mostly 90-91 mph with his fastball, touching 92 a couple times in his three inning appearance. Flashed an above average curveball when he was able to stay on top and pull it down out front. Curveball ranged from 74-78 mph. Did not see a change-up on this day, but have seen a 82-85 mph fading CH in the past. Potential Day Two selection for the 2019 draft. (Seifert)
2-27-2018: Lefty with a high energy, herky jerky, deceptive delivery. Worked hyper quick and threw with effort. Fastball 88-91 mph, touched 92. Sprayed the zone. Mixed in an above average curveball 75-78 and an 82-85 mph changeup which had slight armside fade. Threw 71 pitches over four innings. May need to think for himself once in awhile about pitch selection rather than relying on his catcher for every pitch. Allowed five runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out six. Despite his performance, he competed, kept his poise and battled through the day. (Seifert)
