3.24.18

5-foot-11, 190 pounds, broad shoulders with upper body strength, thick lower half, shows some athleticism on the mound with room to tighten up the frame. Added arm strength since his last workout with PBR. Hands start at the chest, keeps the delivery simple, generates extension with a long stride. Repeated the delivery with ease throughout the bullpen session. Stays strong on the backside and online. Long, loose arm swing releases the ball from a higher ¾ slot. Makes good use of the lower half to generate velocity. Out of the stretch, maintains extension and simplicity in mechanics. The top pitch is his overhand breaking ball thrown for strikes clocked at 62 mph, showed an effective split finger fastball, chance to be an out pitch, velocity is hard at 67 mph. The fastball reached 75 mph, with bore action and ride to it. Showed the ability to pound the 4-seamer to outer half as well. A strike thrower, look for him to get outs at the next level. At the plate, has a middle to opposite field approach. The feet are even, hands are held high. The swing is short to the baseball, with some length at the backend. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 78 mph. Projects for me as more of a pitcher.

Exit Velocity: 78 MPH

11.1.17

5-foot-11, 200-pound, strong, thick, durable pitchers frame. The frame is well proportioned, lower half has strength to it. A right-handed pitcher, who pounded the zone with three pitches. The delivery shows to be sound, repeats it without much effort. The hands start and stay at mid chest, has a clean separation down through the middle part of his frame. The back side is strong, with good length of stride leg, gets in line. Works down hill with good extension on release of the baseball.  The arm action is longer, with a small hook and jab at the bottom part of the path, works freely and clean through release out of a high ¾ slot. The fastball was clokced at 72-73 mph, with heaviness to it, located it down in the zone. The breaking ball, is a true top to bottom, curve ball, has above average rotation, clocked at 61-64 mph, thrown for strikes. The changeup was clocked at 64-66 mph, sold it well with good hand speed used the entire body to throw this pitch. Times to the plate were at 1.75. Mechanically sound, regimented long toss program will aid in the velocity.
