PROCASE 2021

5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. He ran a 6.88 sixty on the laser at the event. The approach in the outfield is aggressive and athletic, throwing 82 mph with carry. The bat has an exit velocity of 89 mph. The setup is even in base and he uses a pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The hands work freely as he manipulates the barrel through the zone. After contact, he uses a 1-handed finish. The frame can still fill out and add strength to it.

Exit Velocity- 89 mph

OF Velocity- 82 mph

7/16/20

5-foot-10, 150-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. He is very athletic, running a 6.81 sixty at the event. The approach in the outfield is aggressive and online through the ball. He threw 77 mph during the outfield portion of the workout as he is coming off labrum surgery. It looks as if he is recovering from that nicely. The bat has an exit velocity of 93 mph. The setup is even in base, using a pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path needs to be flattened a tick for plate coverage but the hands work very well to the baseball.

Exit Velocity- 93 mph

OF Velocity- 77 mph

3/24/19

5-foot-10, 150-pound, longer, lean, super athletic frame. Longer neck, rounded shoulders, room for added weight and mass. A right-handed hitting outfielder, is advanced on both sides of the field, toolsy type player. The stance is balanced, feet are even, wider than shoulder width. The hands are set at the shoulders, more of a flat setup with bat. For timing, shifts weight back, small pick up and put down with stride foot, controlled back side. The swing is level to up, barrel stays in the zone, gets  through the baseball, approach is more middle to pull, has enough juice to get baseball into the gaps. The swing creates lift and loft, had a tee exit of 85 mph. Top tool are his legs, ran a 4.07 from home to first. Defensively, throws above average,  clocked at 77 mph, flight and carry. For footwork, steps through, using a higher crow hop. The arm action is clean, longer path works out of a high ¾ slot. Big time follow for me, need to see him this summer.

Exit Velocity: 85 mph
Arm Velocity: 77 mph
Home to First:  4.07

3/24/18

5-foot-8, 135 pounds, a wiry, projectable athlete. His shoulders have slope and he’s yet to start filling out. Strength gains and further growth are likely. An outfielder and infielder, Gaspar throws from a ¾ to high ¾ slot, and the arm was measured up to 68 MPH on infield throws and 73 MPH from the outfield on the hop. The hands work defensively though the infield actions can be a little rigid and mechanical. Showed more comfort in outfield drills, likely where his long-term future is. Athletic movements into the crow hop. Arm showed some carry and downhill plane on throws. Gaspar stands even and upright in the box, as the feet set a little more than shoulder width apart, with a modest step into the ball. The hands work fluidly through the zone, starting at the shoulders. Average bat speed and rotation through the zone. His tee exit velocity was clocked at 75 MPH, a number that should climb as he adds strength. The bat path is mostly level. Gap-to-gap power should come into play in the near future. Gaspar is a projectable athlete to monitor as he develops in his high school career.

40-Yard Dash: 3.97
Exit Velocity: 75 MPH
Arm Velocity: OF-73 MPH, INF-68 MPH
