9/27/19: Smith started his weekend off right as he went deep to dead center in his first at bat beginning an impressive string of at bats. The stocky sophomore third baseman has the chance to develop some power to his frame and already takes a healthy cut from a balanced stance with a quick rock for timing. At third he stays low to the ground keeping his hands out and the ball in front and flashes a strong arm across to diamond to complete an impressive repertoire. The body plays as well as the bat so time will tell if Smith can put it all together and reach his full potential.
