8-1-2018: 5’10/170 pounds with a lean build. Brown was a competitor in the fastest runner competition and although he didn’t win, he ran an impressive 6.60 in the 60 yard dash. Smooth athlete that makes everything he does look easy. He has the pure speed to stay in the outfield and clean throwing actions. Arm strength could improve as he adds size to his frame but will probably always hover around average. Went 2-2 in the All-Star game with a 1B and 2B. showed the ability to stay back and use the hands on a changeup and also enough bat speed to drive a fastball into the gap. It’s a handsy type of swing that doesn’t utilize a lot of leverage or rotational power. Hitting from the left side helps his prospect status. Constant threat to steal when on the bases, went 20-27 this past spring at the Citadel. Overall he’s an above average runner who understands how to get on-base and can make things happen for the offense. (D Jurik)
