Hit - RHH with a relaxed hand set and balanced stance. Loads the hands down and back with a medium leg kick and medium stride. Full rotation in the lower half, maximizes his bat speed. Good feel for the barrel.
Power - 86 mph exit velocity (tee). Flatter bath through contact with hard ground ball and line drive contact.
Running/Speed - 4.13 home/first time.
Glove - Good bend in the hips behind the plate and quick hands. Developing footwork and block/recover.
Arm - Quick exchanges and short arm action get the ball out quick. 2.00-2.01 POP Range w/ 70 mph catcher velo.
Summary - Cadiz is a solid catching prospect in the 2022 class. Although he sports a smaller frame there are flashes of athleticism and he has the present strength to suggest he could transfer his skillset to a higher level of play. He showed consistent on barrel contact in BP with a good approach. There is controlled aggression in the swing and intent to maximize bat speed and force into contact. He turned in a solid performance behind the plate at the Summer Kickoff ID, showing good bend in the hips, confident hands, and quick exchanges on his throws to 2B
