Bye is a left-handed hitting catcher and the stroke from the left side stands out immediately. It is controlled and balanced in the box with the smooth swing you see from a lot of left-handed hitters. It is a two-handed finish and he does a good job of getting through the baseball and driving the ball in the air with a top exit velo of 93 mph. Defensively, Bye has some quickness in the feet behind the plate, he can gain more ground but the fundamentals are there. The arm is clean and you can see some of his athleticism from the infield as well. Bye should be on lots of college coaches radars with a lot of upside to be excited about.
