4/22/24
Brayden Blankenship (‘24, Daniel Boone) Our staff got another really good look at one of/if not the top still available arm in the 2024 class. The righty would seemingly cruise through 5 innings of work, he would get early offensive support and run with that lead. He would run his fastball up to 91, but at no point seemed like he really let it go, leading one to believe there is more in there. He would help himself at the plate with a 3 run home run to further the cushion he had to work with. To go with his low 90s fastball he also has a sharp low 80s breaking ball, however he sparsely needed it on Tuesday. The bidding war for the impressive senior is still ramping up as the regular season comes to a close, Blankenship looks to make a push with the conference champion Blazers.
3/18/24

Brayden Blankenship (Daniel Boone, 2024) Blankenship faced a tough challenge against Science Hill in his teams first district game and did not shy away from the tough lineup he faced. The 6 foot 3 and 185 pound senior displayed a smooth and fluid windup with a whippy high three quarters arm slot. The righty topped 92 mph in the early innings before settling down, sitting 85-88 as the game progressed. He also featured a wipeout slider that he threw for both Ks and strikes. His fastball showed good hop to it at the top of the zone, which he dominated throughout, tunneling the slider off of it well. The Uncommitted senior strung 2 hits throughout his start in which he finished with 6 innings, 2 earned runs, 4 strikeouts, and 4 walks. Blankenship helped his own cause with a 2 run home run that really cracked the game open in a big Boone third inning. He hopes to continue his run of quality starts which looks to bring more attention and eyes to the uncommitted ‘24 grad RHP.
