6/14/16 - Max FB: 84, FB: 80-83, 72-75 Slider
6'4, 169-pound, RHP uses some good rhythm throughout his delivery to gather as much momentum as he can toward the plate, keeping hands high throughout motion seems to keep him connected and gathered before the pitch, arm works very well with loose action from a high ¾ delivery.  Fastball had some good downhill trajectory and slider can most certainly be used as an out pitch as it was sharp and kept every hitter off balance, struck out 3 hitters in 2 innings of work. Simmons is very projectable, has gained velocity at every PBR event he has attended, and is a couple mph from getting a lot of attention from a lot of college coaches.
1/18/16 - 6-foot-3, 170-pound righty uses a rhythmic motion with some good tempo throughout his delivery, showed a high-3/4 arm slot and a loose and lanky arm action with some effort, athletic movement on the mound gets on the hitter quickly, fastball ranged from 78-81 mph, has the ability to put either late cut or run on his FB, curveball sat from 69-71 with tight spin and more of a 12/6 action than we had seen at a previous PBR event, changeup was anywhere from 72-76 with good arm speed and some solid run and sink in the zone. Simmons’ build and athleticism on the mound suggest continued velocity gains.
6/23/15 - The 6 foot 3, 165-pound tall lanky righty does a great job at using his entire body throughout his delivery. Throwing from the high-¾ slot his fastball sat from 78-79mph topping out at 80mph with occasional run. Curveball sat from 67-68mph with a 10/4 tight break. Changeup sat at 71-73mph with running downward action as it approached the plate. During game play, Simmons gave up two hits, and had a strikeout in his two innings pitched. Should be watched closely for velocity gains moving forward.
