Caid Sanders battled all night working out of jams it felt every inning, and keeping his team in the game in some big moments. Fell just short with his stat line finishing with 5.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R (2 ER), 4 BB, 6 K’s. Sanders was 82-84 topping out at 85. Showing an occasional cut on his FB more than usual when we have seen him before. CB was 68-70 showing late bite, with a SL 71-73 that showed a 3/4 tilt with a consistent late bite. That was his put-away pitch this evening.

5-foot-11, 175-pound, RHP profiles for 4 average or better pitches.  Short, athletic frame w/ some present lower half strength, some physical projection.  Pitches from a full wind-up into over the top release from the first base side of the rubber.  Up-tempo delivery w/ short head violence.  Quick arm.  Consistent tempo in his delivery, clean and repeatable.  Angle.  FB shows occasional cut.  Big downer CB w/ proper shape and rotation.  Flashes tight rotation w/ late bite.  SL flashes plus, featuring tight ¾ tilt and consistent late bite.  Profiles as a put-away pitch, knee-buckler.  CH w/ arm-speed, fade and sink.  Strike-thrower flashes ability to command 4-pitch mix.  Shows ability to pitch to both corners w/ his FB.  Can execute his off-speed stuff, knowing when to throw it for a strike and when to bury for a swing and miss.  Projects to command.  Generated 3 swing and misses on 14 swings.

5-foot-9, 155-pound, RHH hits from a balanced and even stance, uses a leg kick and stride with a simple and smooth and slight movement back with his hands to get loaded, lower half is engaged early with his leg kick and hips are cleared aggressively, bat path is steep as he comes forward and finishes on top of his front leg at times, chance to develop some gap-to-gap pop in the future.  Defensively, showed good hands and average footwork behind the plate, exchange was generally smooth and led to a short arm action through a high ¾ slot, firm throws to 2B, showed versatility by competing in the infield.
