Athletic two-way player with a lot of potential on both sides of the ball. Originally a 2018 graduate, Wallace re-classified to the 2017 class in August.
8/22/19:Dependable late inning arm for the Firebirds (2.73 ERA/1.26 WHIP/.125 BAA), racking-up 23 innings in 14 appearances while striking out 26 and allowing 11 walks and 18 hits. The summer culminated with a dominant 2.1 inning playoff showing against Y-D in which Wallace punched out four while facing one over the minimum. The Tennessee hurler got in much needed work this summer after logging just six innings in the spring, and his heavy low-90s fastball and low-80s slider, which comes with a solid vertical component helping to mirror the heater, could make him a lynchpin arm for Vols this year. He projects as a Day Two talent for next June’s draft. (Faleris)
