Arguably the MVP of the Tennessee Underclass Games, Sherman impressed going 3 for 4 w/ hard contact each at bat and posting a top 4 event pop time (1.99-2.04). Sherman is not a showcase all-star, but is a gamer w/ good offensive production. A solid grab at the next level.

5-foot-10, 165-pound frame with a lot of potential to add size. Offensively, shows good presence in the box. Setup is tall and balanced with a neutral handset. Shows good rhythm as he gathers and has an elite positive move to the baseball. Enters the zone very quick and on plane. Gets good use out of lower half. Was mainly focused on elevating the ball to the pullside in bp. Swing is very high effort. Has potential to be an above average hitter at the next level as he puts on some size and finds quickness. Defensively showed ability to stick the baseball and moved well behind the plate. Has a tendency to aim the baseball to 2B causing loss of pop time.
10/1/17 - 60 Time: 7.93, Pop Time: 2.22-2.28, Position Velocity: IF - 69, C - 68 5'10, 160-pound, RHH shows some projectable tools as the body fills out. Medium, athletic frame w/ some present lower half strength, projectable. Hits w/ a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ back shoulder hand location. Knee to knee leg kick w/ proper load. Overstrides at times. Lot of line drives w/ an all fields approach. Keeps head still, suggesting high contact rate is coming. Developing defensively behind the plate. Flashes good feet behind the plate, still learning to repeat. Arm strength w/ carry to target. As a receiver, sets a quality low target, but could present it to his pitcher earlier. Feel for framing, just needs more reps behind the plate. On the IF, shows usable hands, feet, arm strength.
