Started in a crouched balanced stance with a small slow load, then used a toe tap before his swing. Bat speed is average, has rotational uphill swing plane and high finish. He found some barrels with some loud contact. Line drive approach. Schaefer had an exit velocity of 79 mph. His best position velocity in the outfield was registered at 77 mph. Average In the infield, had a packing exchange, sure hands and consistent fluid footwork. Decent accuracy to the bag, used a loose arm action with a low ¾ slot. Average on the mound, showed a ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action with good arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows some effort. During his delivery balance point is tall with even shoulders. Lands square with a recoil finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 76-79 mph with a max of 79 mph; has running action and glove side control with tight movement. Threw a 10/4 slider (68-70) with control around the zone and slight action. Showed command low in the zone and fading action on his changeup (70-72).
7/5/17 - 60 Time: 7.62, Position Velocity: OF-72, Exit Velocity: 71 5-10, 140-pound, RHH hits from a wide and open stance with fairly high hands, showed an abbreviated leg kick and long stride that settled down as the round progressed, hips come forward, swing plane is steep through the zone, could've stayed a little more balanced. Defensively, plays through the ball pretty well, but could be a little more aggressive, arm action is long and comes through a nearly sidearm slot, throws have some run on them.
