(Nolensville, 2026) we were able to get a great look at Barney this preseason at our Preseason All-State in Gallatin, TN. Impressed during their game yesterday against Science Hill. The uncommitted sophomore served as the three hole hitter for the Knights and showed off his power potential during his first at-bat as he launched what appeared to be a home run, but just went right of the foul pole down the line. Would later break the ice and bring home the first run of the game with a firm single through the pull side. Plenty of projection and upside in the frame as Barney is listed at 6-foot-2, 160-pounds. Moved well around the bag at first base with strong instincts defensively. Currently ranked at No. 51 in the TN ‘26 Class, as the frame continues to bulk up and get stronger, look for Barney to continue to be a threat to opposing arms.

Kael Barney (Nolensville, 2026) the talented left-handed hitter comes in with extreme projection at 6 foot 3 and 160 pounds. It is a wiry build with present athleticism where he plays both basketball and baseball. The length stands out in the box where he projects for much more power down the line. Barney had himself a great day at the plate going 2-3 with a standup double and RBI single, while standing out in his approach and the way he attacked the baseball. In his first at-bat, he just missed a fastball up at 91 mph, fouling it straight back before fouling off a breaking-ball off in the lower quadrant of the zone with 2 strikes. He battled and eventually connected on a fastball, shooting it to left-center field for an RBI single to get Nolensville on the board in the 1st. In his 3rd at bat, he sat back on a fastball away, shooting it to left field for a standup double going 2-3 with an RBI and 1 run scored. The hitterish actions are very evident when watching Barney and should be a high follow for college coaches looking to start making their ‘26 class watches.
