5-foot-9, 175-pound catcher/infielder has a smaller, compact frame, but he makes up for it with a solid hit tool from the left side. Utilized behind the dish and mostly at 2B, a well rounded athlete, who ran a 7.05 sixty and 81 INF Velo in 2020. Solid hands and footwork on the infield, which carries over behind the dish as a solid defender. Popped a 2.03-2.10 in 2020 w/ clean transfer and average arm strength (72 C Velo) along with good accuracy. At the dish, moderate leg kick and keeps the hands tight w/ good barrel control through contact. Consistency in the swing, and in a few looks, just seems to find hits with potential to hit a long ball or drive one into the gap. High baseball IQ and gamer mentality allows Lutterman to play up in comparison to his frame, while providing depth behind the plate or plug in the infield w/ additional value as a lefty bat.
6/24/20
5-foot-8, 160-pound. At the plate, the left-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 85 mph. Began in a balanced crouched stance with a small load, then used a small leg kick just before his swing. Bat speed was above average, had uphill swing plane and high finish. Found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. While catching, consistently had pop times of 2.03-2.10, throw downs to second topped out at 72 mph; had a quick exchange, average footwork and soft hands. Wide setup with above average flexibility. Above average while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 81 mph; showed a clean natural exchange, soft sure hands and rhythmic feet. Decent accuracy to the bag, used a short arm action with a low ¾ slot. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.52.
