6/14/16 - 60 Time: 6.73, Position Velocity:  OF-83, IF-79, Exit Velocity: 83
5'10, 170-pound, RHH hits from a balanced and even stance and uses a short step and subtle hand load and barrel tilt to get him ready to go.  Gets lower half involved, but does it just a little bit too late, causing hands to come through at the same time, minimizing separation.  Fairly flat swing path produces some low line drives in BP and helped him record 2 singles in game play.  In the outfield, works through the ball well and isn’t afraid to attack it, exchange is quick and uses a high ¾ release and a short arm action to produce some accurate throws with average carry.  In the infield, shows average hands with good range, doesn’t move through it quite as well as in the OF, exchange and release are quick. 

1/18/16 - 5-foot-9, 175-pound right-handed hitter hits from a balanced and fairly upright stance, uses a short and quick stride with a good hand load to get himself started, does okay with lower half and showed a short swing path that will likely produce a lot of ground balls and low line drives, good balance throughout, will drag hands on occasion, line drive approach produced an 84 mph exit velocity off the tee, could be a lead-off type hitter at the next level. Displayed athleticism and versatility by running an event best 6.72 60-yard dash and showcasing two positions.  In the outfield, Cotton showed average hands and quick feet, used a quick exchange and arm action from a high-3/4 delivery to produce a 78 mph position velocity.  As a catcher, used quick hands and feet to his advantage, got rid of the ball very quickly, produced a 2.05 pop time and a 75 mph position velocity from behind the plate. Speed profiles best as an OF at the next level.

6/23/15 - The 5 foot 10, 165-pound prospect showed good speed in posting a 4.34 home to 1^st time and had a 77mph position velocity across the infield and a 78 mph position velocity from the outfield. Defensively Cotton has average hands, fluid footwork, natural instincts, short am action, plays through the ball aggressively in the outfield, average arm strength, and accuracy on his throws. Offensively the right-handed hitter had an 82 mph exit velocity off the tee. Lofton hits from a balanced setup , has a mid-length stride, good overall balance, has some length in swing at times and is a line drive type hitter. Cotton went 1-for-3 in game play with a single.
