5'10, 175-pound, LHH shows some pull power in a repeatable swing. Short, athletic w/ present lower half strength, some projection remaining. Hits from a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ back shoulder hand location. Stride w/ deep hand load. Near arm bar. Pull oriented w/ developing pull power. Natural loft. When on time, swing shows ability to drive ball and hit for average. Defensively, profiles in a corner OF spot w/ carry to target.
7/27/16 - Home-1st: 4.82, Position Velocity: 70, Exit Velocity: 79
5-foot-10, 175-pound, LHH hits from a narrower stance with some minor pre-pitch movement in his hands, uses a simple stride with a definite push back of his hands to get loaded, lower half works but seems to just sit and spin at times, bat path is pretty flat through the zone with a little lift at the end that did drive through some balls to RF in BP, likes to pull the ball. Defensively, gets behind the ball well but doesn’t quite attack it like most would like to see, uses a long exchange and arm action through a high ¾ release point to produce throws with occasional accuracy and arm strength that can be improved upon in the next couple of years.
7/27/16 - Max FB: 70, FB: 68-70, CB: 57-61,
5-foot-10, 175-pound, LHP throws completely out of the stretch and seems to like to keep things as simple as possible, a simple leg lift and stride toward the plate out of the stretch is an easy way to stay consistent and that’s what Ragsdale tries to accomplish, strides very slightly closed but is able to get out front without a problem, may want to add a slide step to his arsenal with men on base, simple arm action comes through a high ¾ arm slot. Fastball stayed mostly straight and curveball showed 1/7 shape with gradual movement.
