10/24/14 - Neely started for Chandler World against GBG Marucci and the slightly built 5-foot-11, 170-pound Tennessee recruit struck out six in six innings of work behind a solid three-pitch mix. Neely’s fastball sat 88-90 for most of his start, touching 91. He also throws two quality secondary offerings: an 80-82 mph changeup with arm-side sink, and a 76-77 mph slider. Both pitches he throws with similar fastball arm action. Neely has a short, quick arm action from a ¾ slot. Neely pounded the strike zone with all three pitches for most of the game.

Being slight of stature at 5-foot-11 and weighing 170 pounds doesn't stop Hardin Valley ace Will Neely from being a force on the mound. With a fastball that consistently sits in the high 80's and touches 90 mph, the University of Tennessee commit has shown that he can hold his velocity well as the innings progress. He's a 3/4 arm action guy that coils his front side on delivery producing a natural cut action to his fastball. Secondary slider and change-up offerings are solid pitches to round out his arsenal. Lots of room to develop size and strength to preserve his shoulder as the innings are logged.
