Physical shortstop with plenty of arm strength to stay on the left side. Quick first step and great angles on approach. Made some tough plays to both sides. Offensively had one hard line drive into center and was easy to see his physical strength at the plate.

Safferwich looked much more in tune today on both sides of the ball. Defensively has really nice actions. Quick feet, good angles, and gets rid of it quickly with a short arm action. On the mound today looked much more comfortable as opposed to a week ago versus Thomas Dale. Was efficient on the mound and made quick work of the Royals in his inning of work, but where Safferwich really stood out today was at the plate. His first at bat of the day he got a hanging breaking ball and just missed it hitting a fairly deep fly ball to center field. As the day progressed his approach never wavered. He was patient and looked relaxed and comfortable at the plate. Had a nice at bat in the LCA game where he hit a hard, loud line drive by the shortstop.
