He has a short, loose arm action that is quick and generates velocity with normal effort. His shoulders are closed and slightly uphill as he strides out to a closed landing, creating a crossfire delivery. Strain’s fastball had some run and heavy sink, sitting 76-77. He threw a good, sharp 10/4 slider with good armspeed that ran 65-67. His changeup had sink and was 73.
