Muir is one of the top uncommitted players remaining in the 2021 VA/DC class and it is easy to see why. Loud physical tools with the lateral range, foot speed, and arm strength to stay on the left side. Defensively it was a very busy day for Muir. Run throughs, starting double plays, and finishing double plays Muir showed it all in game. Quick first step, attacks forward, and displays plenty of arm strength to make deep throws. Got a ball on the backside of the lip which he bobbled, but showed off the arm strength while recovering and throwing out the Freeman runner at first. Hands are average and is solid around the bag on pivots. Finishing the double play Muir shows that it is not an elite exchange, but there is so much arm strength present that he makes up for the lack of transfer quickness. At the plate Muir starts from a square stance, toe tap stride, and lands slightly closed off. Hands load in rhythm with the stride, level path to contact, and does show some pull side tendency to the swing. Raw power is present and the swing and it has a chance to play in game. Front side was a little soft at times on stride and caused some drift with the head, but did a solid job keeping the hands back and is still physically strong enough to turn some mishit balls into hits. Lined out to left field in his first at bat and would later flew out to center field, both being solid barrels.

Muir is 6-0 with an athletic frame that has strength present and projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load back to a slight wrap. Hips rotate completely with violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short and very quick to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path, strong at contact point with extension through the ball, showed a pull approach with power present that way, exit velocity was 99. In the infield, rounds the ball and fields with a wider base and above average hands, works through the ball to a clean exchange, throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot, longer loose quick arm action, position velocity was 87. Ran a 6.91 60 yard dash.
9/16/17
9.16.17: Muir has a lankier athletic frame and throws from a three-quarters arm slot. Free arm action, shoulders level and closed. Fastball sat 72-74, touching 76 with some sink. Curveball was 61-65 with big gradual 11/5 break. Showed some barrel ability at the plate and used whole field.
