Massengill is 6-0 with an athletic 175 pound frame that has some strength present and some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, leg kick stride on line, smooth load down and back. Hips rotate with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, goes straight to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path with some strength at contact point, showed a pull approach with the ability to work the middle of the field, has some extra base power to his pull side, exit velocity was 86. In the infield, rounds the ball and fields with a wider base and average hands, works through the ball with a clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, longer arm action, position velocity was 77. Ran a 7.43 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot, shorter loose arm action and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are slightly uphill and closed, lands closed with a fall-off finish and a bit of recoil. Fastball was 78-81, with some downward angle and late armside run that has a bit of sink to it as well. Slider was 67-69 with good armspeed and hard 10/4 break to it. Change-up was 73-76 with good armspeed and late hard sink to it.
