Copley has a wiry frame with some length and room to add more to his frame. At the plate he hits from an athletic setup with high hands and some wiggle in the stance. It's a short swing path, keeping his hands inside the ball showing some bat speed at the plate. He had a gap-to-gap approach able to spray the field at the plate with some extension. He is sound defensively with clean hands and a nice exchange and more than likely will move to shortstop once Gilliam graduates. He should develop the arm strength to be able to play short. Strength and speed will be keys to his development.
5.24.17: Athletic frame, soft hands in field, moves well. Short arm action, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot. Clean actions, smooth. Played at third but slid to short mid-game. At the plate, open athletic stance, short to the ball with some bat speed. Worked the middle of the field, line drie swing. Ran a 4.4 on a successful sac bunt.
