Smith is 6-1 with a lankier athletic 175 pound frame that has some strength present and projection left to it. He throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, longer loose quick arm action and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are level and closed, lands open with a fall-off finish and some recoil. Fastball was 81-82, with downward angle and some late armside boring action. Curveball was 68-70 with good armspeed and sharp 11/5 break to it, showed ability to manipulate shape. Change-up was 75-76 with good armspeed and late boring action to armside.
