A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.

A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.

Keith is listed at 6-foot, 175-pounds. Athletic actions defensively with arm strength from the left side. It is an athletic makeup to the body and a frame that should fill out well with added strength. Keith stood out most on the mound in this limited look. Threw two innings holding 81-83 mph with the fastball the entire time and touched 84 twice in the first inning. The delivery has some effort and intent to it, with some violence to the head at release. The arm swing is longer with plenty of arm speed throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot. Did not show the 70-72 mph breaking ball much and I think that is partially due to his effectiveness with the fastball.

VA/DC Limited Series East
Athletic frame with projection left to it. Fastball was 78-80 mph and tended to sit high and arm side. Played well when he got it out front and worked to the glove side. Breaking ball had 10/4 shape with solid horizontal break. The breaking ball sat 66-67 mph with average feel. Interesting arm and athlete that has continued to trend up since we saw him this winter.

Preseason All-State I
Keith is 6-0 with a lankier athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from an open upright relaxed stance, low leg kick stride on line, short load back to a wrap. Hips rotate completely and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing, exit velocity was 80. In the infield, rounds the ball and fields with a wider base with above average hands, works through the ball, clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, position velocity was 77. On the mound, he throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and closed, lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 74-76, touching 77, with some late sink. Curveball had some armspeed and was 62-64 with gradual 11/5 break. Change-up had some armspeed and sink.
