Cape Cod: Had a breakout sophomore campaign for the Dukes, hitting .342/.452/.631 with 13 homers and 22 doubles. He had some success against lefthanded pitching this summer but really struggled against righties, finishing with a .231 average, four homers and 36 strikeouts against just 10 walks in 147 at-bats between the regular season and playoffs. A physical athlete at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, Trimble needs to improve against righthanded breaking balls and cut down his strikeout rate, but when he makes contact, he consistently put up some of the biggest exit velocities in the Cape League this summer. He also has a pull-oriented approach, though he’ll occasionally square up a hard liner middle-away. With an open stance and a low hand setup, Trimble’s carrying tool is his righthanded power potential, but he needs to refine his approach to fully unlock it. He’s an adequate defender in the outfield with a below-average arm and below-average speed.
