Lawler is 5-10 with an athletic frame that has some projection left to it. He throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with short loose arm action that is quick with normal effort. Smooth delivery, shoulders level and on line, lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 78-81, touching 82 with some late run to it. Curveball was 66-68 with sharp 12/6 break, good shape and good armspeed. Change-up was 73-75 with good armspeed and some sink. Slider was 73-74 with good armspeed and late sharp 11/5 break, very good pitch with swing and miss potential.

Lawler has an athletic frame that still has projection left to it. He had a strong two-way day. At the plate he barreled a pair of balls driving them to left. His bat is quick and he has some strength at contact as well as some gap power. On the mound, he throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a free arm action and normal effort. His fastball was 81-83, mostly just plugging 83 with some late life to it. Curveball was 69-72 with some armspeed and sharp break.
