Horton has spent most of the winter transforming his swing at the plate, and it has paid off as he has made a noticeable change, freeing up the hands and creating more looseness in the swing. That translated into a lot more line drive and pop coming off the bat and Horton showing a new found power potential coming in. As he continues to add the reps he should continue to get better. Combine that with his already high tools of arm strength (93mph) and speed make for an intriguing prospect.
6.27.17: Horton is 6-0 with a lankier projectable frame that he can add to, hits from the right side from a crouched, athletic stance. Horton's older brother, Derek, is at Liberty University. Horton is a very athletic middle infielder who is already a good defender with range and a strong arm. He has a good line-drive swing and projects to be able to hit for a high average with gap-to-gap power.
