Cornwell is 6-6 with an athletic 220 pound frame that has strength in the lower half and some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load back to a wrap. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path with strength at contact and extension through the ball, long limbs generate leverage, showed good approach working primarily gap to gap, extra base power present to all fields, swing naturally generates loft and carry, still has room to add more power, exit velocity was 91. In the infield, gets body behind ball and fields with a wider base and average hands, works through the ball to a clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 79. Ran a 7.71 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action and some effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are uphill and closed, lands closed with an athletic finish. Fastball was 78-80, touching 81, with some downward angle and a bit late armside run. Curveball was 63-65 with some armspeed and sharp 11/5 break to it. Splitter was 71-72 with good armspeed and hard dive with a bit of run as well.
