2.15.15 Sykes has a lanky frame and throws from a high three-quarters slot. He has a long, loose arm action that is quick. His rhythm is a bit choppy, but he does a good job of staying on line throughout his delivery and finishes in an athletic position. Sykes sat in the low 70s, touching 74 mph with a fastball that had late run to it. He commanded a good slider very well in the mid-60s and flashed a fading change-up in the low-60s.  Offensively, hit from a balanced stance with flex in the knees.  Slight arm bar in load which is straight back.  Takes a short stride and has a leg kick.  Took a good approach during the round and had stiff rhythm.  Had a short bath path that was in and out of the zone.  Line drive stroke when on line.  Hands drag through the zone from time to time.  Had an Exit Velocity of 75 mph.  In the field, threw from a high ¾ arm slot with a short arm action.  Throws were accurate.  Allowed the ball to get deep in his stance when fielding.  Exchanges and footwork were deliberate.  Showed average hands.  Had a Positional Velocity of 72 mph.
