3/13/21

VA/DC PreSeason All-State Central

Thomas is 5-8 with a compact athletic 150 pound frame that has some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load back to a wrap. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path with some strength at contact, showed a good approach working gap to gap, some extra base power in the alleys, exit velocity was 84. In the infield, rounds the ball and fields with a wider base and soft hands, works through the ball to a quick clean exchange, throws from high three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 71.

Arm: RH.  INF - 66 mph.  Shorter arm action with average arm strength. Room to get better. Gets rid of it quickly.
Defense: Sound foot work, keeps them active. Gets into good position to the ball. Hands are soft and does nice job of gathering towards first.
