Johnson's swing is more uphill this year, he is short to the ball and has a fast bat. Approach was much better in this game, letting the ball get deep and not getting too pull happy. Hit the ball on the screws each time, with two flyouts to deep left, which are the videos, and a double to left center. His swing sets up much better currently when he works gap to gap. Speed is great as always and made a few plays in center that no one else does. Has doubles power to all fields. Could add strength and start pulling the ball to get some home run pop. Personally I like this version of him better, using the whole field, getting on base any way he can, and then using his speed as a game-changing weapon on the bases.

Johnson has an athletic frame, hips rotate explosively and he has some balance to his swing, quick bat, and a lot of speed. Showed a pull approach at the plate, felt like he was a pressing a bit, got pitched very tough. Despite that, still had three good at-bats. Defense is elite in centerfield, gets good first step and takes good routes to ball, speed is one of his strongest tools. Scored from first easily on a shallow double.

Johnson has continued to get stronger as he ages and as he gets stronger his bat continues to improve. He has elite speed and covers a ton of ground in centerfield and gets good jumps. His bat has begun to show gap power and he is beginning to look like a player who will be an elite defender in center and be capable of being an impact bat in the top third of the lineup.

Johnson has an athletic frame with some projection left to it and hits from the left side, open athletic stance, short stride on line, smooth load back, has good rhythm to his swing. Has some bat speed and gets barrel to contact quickly. Slightly uphill swing path with extension through the ball, line drive swing. Showed good knowledge of the strike zone and a whole-field approach. Speed is an asset for Johnson, getting up the line in 4.13 on a groundout despite pulling up a step or two early. Covers a lot of ground in center and gets good breaks on balls. Throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a loose arm action and what projects to be at least an above average arm. Has a chance to be an elite defender in center who hits near top of the order with a high average and the potential for extra base power.
