When we ranked the ‘21 class back in September, we felt that Guerrero had the best pure ‘hit’ tool of any player we saw in the state. He has only reaffirmed our stance every time out. While it remains to be seen where he finds a home defensively, there is no denying Guerrero’s ability to flat out hit everything that gets thrown his way. Starts slightly open with a very narrow, upright stance before closing off his stride and putting his lower half in a more athletic position. His separation allows him to keep control of the barrel until he’s ready to swing. The proper sequencing between his upper & lower half helps him create tremendous bat speed and power while allowing the ball to travel. Exciting bat to watch every time he steps into the box.

9/25/19

A utility player who has the athleticism to fill multiple positions in both the infield and outfield, Guerrero sports a defined, 6-foot, 180-pound frame with a broad chest and strong lower-half. After starting in an open stance with the hands held high, he squares with a jolted move of the hands that wraps the bat into a power position. The bat speed is advanced with plenty of lag in the zone on a flat path, and he hunts pitches with intent to do damage in all counts. Guerrero effortlessly flicked a two-strike single up the middle in the first game, and hammered multiple balls in the second game of the day with pull-side power present. He runs downhill, playing with a high motor at all times, and looked the part of a winning ballplayer over the course of two games.
