Strong, durable frame at 6-foot-2, 190. Sets up with an open stance in the box and feet at about shoulder width apart. Uses a knee-knock load into a short forward stride to get into hitting base. Hands stay active with rhythm/movement as he gets into a scap load while keeping barrel in a flat position above rear shoulder. Strong at the point of contact with consistent lift to his pull-side. Rotates against a posted front leg with a flatter finish. Controlled effort in the swing with easy bat speed. Likely has more power in the tank. Defensively, size and strength works well at 3B. Takes a low squat in his pre-pitch set up with a narrow base. Slight 'hop' at contact. Sits back on the ball and lets it travel into his stance. Steady, methodical footwork. Quick, consistent exchange into low 3/4 release with compact arm action. On the mound, uses height and length well to create leverage and downward angle on the ball. Worked exclusively out of the stretch with consistent direction towards target. Stays tall with a high leg lift before breaking hands and getting into stride. Slight stab in arm action before shortening up to a high & tight arm path and high 3/4 release. Eyes start on target through finish. Finishes with late intent out front as he drives throwing shoulder through his catcher.
