6'0, 210 lb frame with an extra strong build and powerful levers. Mills is one of the better overall prospects in the state and has the chance to be a 2-way player at the next level. Offensively he possess a heavy barrel with above average power from the left side. Impacts the baseball easily with a smooth, uphill stroke and controlled intent. Hits from a simple, balanced set-up with tall posture and lets the barrel work easily. Ball jumps off the barrel. On defense he's a very capable defender at 1B with solid range and footwork around the bag with a plus arm.
On the mound, he's one of the top arms in the state. From the left side, he uses a continuous, compact arm action with a high takeaway. It's a quick, whippy arm path with impressive layback and a loose finish out front. Pitches with a slower, more deliberate tempo and stays under control throughout. Strong lower half helps him keep everything in his legs and have a controlled decel out front. The FB has worked 84-87 on our looks with late ASR and some sink from a 3/4 slot. The sweeping breaking ball has plenty of shape with tight slurve shaped bend. CH gives him a 3rd quality offering with hard tumble in the bottom of the zone. Starter type profile.
