Jayden Pierce, Auburn Senior High School (WA), 2027
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-7, 140-pounds.
Hit: RHH. Feet are set more than shoulder width apart, with a slightly open front foot, and weight shifted back over a bent knee. The hands start preloaded, set ear high, stacked past the back foot, and the nod pointed down and towards the other batter's box. The hands stay high in a loaded position before the front leg lifts into the load, weight shifts back over the rear leg as the hips begin to coil, before weight quickly shifts forward as the front leg strides into the swing. Bending at the waist, as the hands work even further past the back foot into the load, the front foot lands, causing the hips to flip open, which pulls the hands through the zone with uphill contact on the ball. Ending with a controlled two-handed follow through.
Power: 85 max exit velocity, averaged 77.9 mph. 284' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-83 mph. Funnels the ball to the belt before gathering at the letters; the throwing arm works behind the back before coming up to a high 3/4 arm release, ending with an aggressive follow through.
Defense: Starts in athletic stance, significantly bent at the waist and knees, and hands presented early. Stays low to the ground on approach, keeping hands out front, working body position behind the ball with controlled athletic steps, and fielding the ball on the move to carry momentum to target. Comfortable fielding the ball out front as well as both four handed and backhanded, both off the ground and bounce.
ATH: 7.31 runner in the 60. 1.75 and 4.06 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. 18.50 max vertical.
Vizual Edge: 52.52 Edge Score
