2/09/20

6-foot-4, 185-pounder has an athletic, mature frame with room to add additional strength. The lefty sat 77-78 while topping at 79 mph from a high 3/4 arm slot with command down in the zone. Gets over front knee well, but loses backside early limiting his leg drive. Also showcased a curveball at 65-66 with 11/5 rotation and a changeup thrown at near fastball arm speed that sat 71-72. Definite high follow in this class as he begins his high school career this spring.

2/10/19

On the mound, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound primary Pitcher throws out of an over-the-top arm slot. On this day, he had more success throwing his pitches in the strike zone than the last time we saw him. His FB sat 73-74 mph with movement out of the hand. He had some trouble getting on top of his CB, but when he did, it showed solid 1/6 shape at 65-66 mph. His CH sat 63-64 mph and was thrown consistently in the strike zone.

12/30/18

Offensively, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound athlete displayed a simple, controlled swing. Drops his back shoulder and looks to launch the ball. Showed a lot of confidence his swing and abilities. Defensively, Williams showed solid fundamentals and the ability to move his feet. A 69 mph positional velocity was recorded.

On the mound, Williams showed good upside and potential. The left hander's FB sat 69-71 mph with arm side run. On this day he did have some trouble with control, but when in the zone did have solid tilt. CB was 63-65 mph, along with a CH at 62-63 mph. Overall, Williams showed flashes of a promising future and is a player to watch in the 2023 class.
