Van Meter was a standout at this event. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound athlete was more than impressive on this day. He started by running a 7.00-sixty. During his round of BP, he started in a spread, open stance with his hands at ear level. Van Meter had the loudest round of the day, hitting one out to straight away left field. Uses his lower half well, and generates good bat speed. Defensively, Van Meter displayed adequate actions in the infield, to go along with a 70 mph arm across the diamond while displaying a confident glove. On the mound, Van Meter displayed a FB at 78-79, to go along with a CH at 70-71 with arm side fade. His third offering was a CB and Splitter, both at 63-64 with solid shape. Overall, with his size and strength, Van Meter will be a hot commodity as his recruiting starts to heat up.
