Smith is a 6-foot-4, 170-pound LHP/OF from Bridgeport HS. He was named Special Mention All-State as a sophomore and picked up the win for the Indians on the mound in the Class 2A state title game in 2014.

8/9/15 Smith sat 79-81 from a high 3/4 arm slot with a hip coil delivery and some arm side run to his fastball. The 6-foot-4, 170-pound lefty also commanded a 73 mph changeup thrown at fastball arm speed and a 65 mph curveball with 1/7 rotation. Smith registered three strikeouts during his three innings of work while allowing four hits.
